Under 10's Update from New Super Coach James Vesper

Hi Colts Family,

I hope you and your boys are excited for the game this Sunday!

Unfortunately we had to forfeit our first game last weekend as we completed a national recruitment drive and finalised a few third-party deals. The results, however, look promising as it appears we have a couple of great additions to the team with Cy Matkovic and Max Nearn coming on board. Welcome guys!

Game – Sunday 15th April
The game this Sunday is at Burrows Park, Clovelly against the Leichhardt Juniors. Kick-off time will be advised once I know. The forecast is sunny and 25 degrees, perfect for fast free-flowing rugby league. It is crucial we field a team this weekend after last week’s forfeit, otherwise, our position in the comp might be short-lived. If your son is unable to play this weekend please let me know asap. Also, we need one parent with their LEAGUE SAFE accreditation to run the water. Any volunteers?

Training – Thursday 12th April
We’ll have a meet, greet and training run this Thursday evening at 4.30 – 5.30 at Robertson Rd Fields, Moore Park, opposite Fox Studios. Refer to the attached map for details. There’s normally plenty of parking on Robertson Rd. If 4.30 is too early, just get there when you can. We’ll hand out socks and shorts on Thursday, and jerseys on Sunday. Please bring boots and mouth guards to training, plus headgear if your son wears it.

Competition
There are 8 teams in our competition, including 3 from the east and 5 from the Balmain league. The NRL MyLeague App is a great way to keep track of our competition, game details and ladder. If you download the app, open ‘My Team’ in the menu then link our team “Paddington Colts Under 10 Div 2”.

Games will be shared between Burrows Park, Waverley Oval and various fields in the Leichhardt & Balmain areas. There'll be a 7 seater leaving from Coogee every weekend, so let me know if you happen to get stuck for transport.

Registration
It’s important that all kids are registered, so please click here to Register if you haven’t done so already. While it is looking like we should have enough players to run on this week, we really need a couple more kids to join the team. Please remind your son to ask any mates if they'd like to play. As incentive….. any kids who introduce a new player will go straight to the top of the goal-kicking list…

Finally, I know there's a couple on this list who are still undecided, but I encourage you to give it a try for a few weeks and then make a decision about the rest of the season. My aim is to make it fun both on and off the field.

Paddington Colts Under 8's. Match report and change of training days

Hi Colts Family,

MATCH REPORT
What a game the boys played yesterday! From the opening whistle they got stuck in, worked hard, worked together and came away with a 12 tries to 2 win. Everyone contributed so it was awesome to see. Highlight of the game was in the final Quarter (I think) when the big kid from Bondi United made a huge run down his left hand sideline, palming off a few defenders as he stormed downfield... But next minute there was 8 Colts players who all managed to bring him to ground a no doubt save a try! Great commitment!

TRAINING THIS WEEK and beyond...
I am afraid I am going to have clashes on Fridays from now on as my eldest son plays rugby on Friday evenings. Is everyone ok if we move training to Thursday evenings at 4:30? Same spot as last week at Robertson Road. I know some people will have clashes on and won't be able to make it. Thats not such a drama as I will be incorporating the training drills we do each week into the warm up on game day. If you could all get back to me as soon as you can that would be most appreciated.

Training Update

Dear Paddo Colts,

Please note today’s training at Robertson Rd has been cancelled due to the rain, the ground is closed. Please also note, this completes our summer training and we begin winter training as of next week Wednesday and Friday. At  ES Marks on Wednesday and on Friday at Centennial Park Synthetic field.

Game Review Sunday 30th July - Paddington Colts U6s Green vs Bondi United White

Hi Colts Family,

What can I say - one of the most exciting games of the season! 13 tries each in our 2nd tied match for the year. (Coincidentally the 1st tied match was back in Round 7 against the same team with 12 tries apiece). Well Done Boys!!!!!  

Billy Walker - Billy scored an impressive 4 tries this week - his highest count to date. All round excellent tackling and defence, which he has shown consistently week after week. Our Player of the Match this week. I think you'll be able to shout the fam Maccas with that pile of awards you're amassing!


Cash  Parry - Another consistent effort from Cash, managing to score 3 tries and was again outstanding in defence. A confident player with steely determination...I'm scared just looking at you in case I get mowed over!

Koa Kelk - A little hesitation here and there, a twirl and a tapdance almost.....but Koa scores a try! Top effort with some good defence and group tackling.

Brock Dalley - After some impressive downhill skiing last week, Brock was back in his element on level ground following his team in tackling and putting in 100% with defence. The happiest boy you've ever seen when he has the ball, and  giving several good runs this week.

Leo Lynch - Leo our little no.6 was out this week with a tummy bug. Hope you are feeling better soon ready to run around with your mates next week.

E.T.  - Our fearless ET was again in his element running after the opposition with determination and speed. One of our first lines of defence saw ET chasing down the other team whenever the opportunity arose.  A fantastic try by ET evading the other team with ease!

Odin Goyoaga - After a pep talk from dad Odin was tackling anything wearing a United jersey this week. Scoring our first try of the match leaving the opposition choking on his dust...he added 3 more tries,either leaving United bumping into one another halfway down the field, or slipping through the cracks of the Whites! Hmmm playing one of his best games ever when dad's not there. Was that deliberate?? Haha hubby - YOU MISSED IT ALL!! Our Merit Award recipient this week.

Tane Goyoaga - Some great tackling from our little No.15...but mum doesn't like being ambushed 20+ times by jumping on her back ...but it's nice that little Rocky Walker wanted to practise similar skills on his mum, thankfully less enthusiastically. (Know any good physios Brigitta?) Not fussed too much on oranges this week and only one bag of chips today. Odd....Not your best effort son!!


Well done again boys...... Our games are getting better and better each week. Have a great weekend peeps - enjoy the 26 Deg C winter day!

Under 5’s Match Review

A cracking morning saw the young colts take on arch rivals Bondi United, down 4 players our boys got plenty of game time and didn’t disappoint the big crowd with a tough 64 to 60 win.

It was a try feast with all the boys crossing the white line.Young Kai and Geoff both bagging their first doubles. Rocky and Charlie both played strong as always in both attack and defence. Special man of the match performances went to Harley Stevenson with huge running meters, bagged 4 tries and scored on the bell to seal the win and and Beau Clark who pulled off some inspirational Scott Sattler like cover defence from his new faviurite position at full back.

We welcome back some of our stalwarts next week and cant wait to do it all again.

Round 11 Review - Colts U6 Green vs Clovelly Crocs Red

Hi Colts Family,

We've won our first Game out of our last 4!!!!! Paddo Colts U6s won 10 tries to Clovelly Crocs 9 to come away with our first win in our last 4 games....... Well Done Boys!!!!!

(My star try recorder, Summer was away, so hopefully my count is correct ).

Billy 'Take my Dummy, Sucker' Walker - Was outstanding with his running mesmerising the opposition defence as well as throwing huge dummies to nobody baffling the opposition.... Billy scored 1 great try this week with his determined running & great dummy throwing!!!! Great Game Billy!!!! Also some...interesting tackling. (Did I say illegal?...no!!!)

Cash 'Beatso' Parry - Has evolved into one of our strongest players .... Cash was again outstanding in defence showing great technique to bring down the Crocs attackers...... Cash made several strong runs really believing in his size and strength to score 3 great tries. One of his best games to date..... Great Game Cash!!!!

Koa 'The Handstand Kid' Kelk - Koa did well this week running to the gaps where Paul said to run..... Making several great runs unfortunately the Crocs defence was to quick for Koa..... Koa kept up his good defence and didn't run away from the Crocs attackers..... Koa received this weeks Merit Award for his effort..... Well Done Koa!!!!!

Brock 'Oh What a Feeling' Dalley - Trained really well on Friday..... The Roosters Footy Clinic must have done wonders..... Brock is down the snow at the moment doing a snow photo shoot..... How are the snow bunnies Brock????? Well Done Brock, Let's see those skills in the Game!!!!

Leo 'The Lion Heart' Lynch - Leo made several impressive runs again this week..... Leo has continued showing us how big his heart is making several great tackles. Keep it up Leo!!!!!

E.T. 'The Whiz' - We missed you mate!!!! If you were here the last few weeks I'm sure your try scoring capabilities would have boosted U6s to victory! Great to have you Back!!!!! E.T. made several great runs scoring a try, and was excellent in defence..... E.T. earned our Player of the Match Award this week..... Well Done

Odin 'The Swerver' Goyoaga - Odin played well this week and kept up his try scoring average continuing where he left off before the holidays scoring 3 great tries with his speed and evasive runs..... Odin did at least have a go in defence this week getting involved and making several try assists..... Well done son!!!!

Tane 'Feed Me' Goyoaga - He turned the Big 4 the day before the game, and is still happy to be a supporter and smash any food on offer, including eating all the oranges & chips...... sigh...

Well done again boys...... Our best game in the last few rounds!!!!! Keep It Up Boys......

Paddington Colts Training Ground Updates

The Paddington Colts have relocated our International Age group training sessions for the remainder of 2017, to our 2016 base, ES Marks Athletics Fields.

This is due to a NSWRL Train & Play rule, whereby Souths Juniors have complained that Paddington Colts were training within the South Sydney District. At the request of the NSWRL, the Paddington Colts have agreed to move their training for the remainder of 2017 to ES Marks Field.

We look forward to bringing an exciting update for our 2018 training grounds shortly
